Scientific Name: Ameiurus nebulosus
Brown Bullhead Catfish were first present in Lake Taupo and have spread down the Waikato River.
Also found in Northland and are spreading in New Zealand by boat trailers and in particular
fyke nets used for eeling. They are dark brown to olive green colour with paler sides and bellies.
